Women Shaping the Future of XR: Health, Ports, Automotive & Industry

Join us on 6 March | 13:00–14:30 CET

Extended Reality (XR) technologies are transforming how we train, operate, and innovate across sectors – from healthcare and ports to automotive manufacturing and industry. At the same time, women remain underrepresented in the development, leadership, and scaling of these technologies.

To spotlight the tangible impact women are already making in XR, we are pleased to announce the 3rd edition of the Women in XR webinar series:

Women Shaping the Future of XR: Health, Ports, Automotive & Industry

  • 6 March 2026
  • 13:00–14:30 CET
  • Online

This edition is organised in collaboration with Women TechEU and the XR2Learn project, bringing together innovators working at the forefront of immersive technologies across multiple domains.

A Panel Focused on Real-World Impact

The webinar will be structured as a moderated panel discussion, encouraging exchange rather than formal presentations. The session will focus on:

  • Practical XR applications across safety-critical and high-impact sectors
  • Lessons learned from deploying immersive technologies in real operational environments
  • Personal journeys of women working in XR
  • The future of inclusive innovation ecosystems

Participants will gain insight into how XR solutions are being designed, validated, and scaled – and how women leaders are shaping this transformation.

Featured Projects & Speakers

The panel will feature representatives from XR2Learn Open Call 2 projects and Women TechEU, covering diverse use cases:

NEONATAL – XR for Neonatal Resuscitation Training

A Virtual Reality simulation platform supporting healthcare professionals in practicing life-saving neonatal resuscitation procedures. With neonatal deaths still accounting for 44% of under-five mortality worldwide, scalable training solutions are urgently needed. NEONATAL offers realistic, repeatable, and team-based VR training to enhance preparedness and decision-making.

SensiVR – XR-Based Pediatric Neurorehabilitation

An immersive digital health platform supporting rehabilitation for children with neurodevelopmental disorders. By combining VR interactions with data-driven monitoring, SensiVR expands therapy access and enhances motivation and adherence.

EcoDrive XR – Holographic XR for EV Manufacturing Training

An immersive training solution using real human holograms to modernize vocational education in electric vehicle manufacturing. Learners interact with full-scale 3D components inside XR environments before entering real industrial settings.

Portal-XR – Immersive Industrial Training with Digital Twins

A next-generation XR training system leveraging immersive VR, digital twin technology, and learning analytics to improve safety, skill acquisition, and workforce participation — including increased participation of women in specialized operational roles.

🛠️ X-DE-MAN – Sustainable Disassembly & Industry 5.0 Training

A VR-based training system supporting the disassembly of mechatronic products in line with circular economy principles, enabling safe, repeatable, and measurable industrial upskilling.

Moderated by Regina van Tongeren

The discussion will be moderated by Regina van Tongeren, marketing strategist and educator working at the intersection of AI, immersive media, and responsible innovation. Regina brings expertise in inclusive technology design, ethical innovation, and cross-sector collaboration, ensuring a thoughtful and dynamic conversation.
