XR2Learn Showcases XR Innovation at Laval Virtual 2026 Together with MOTIVATE XR and MASTER XR

The XR2Learn project joined forces with two fellow Horizon Europe projects: MOTIVATE XR and MASTER XR, at Laval Virtual 2026, one of the world’s leading international exhibitions dedicated to Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and immersive technologies.

Held annually in Laval, France, Laval Virtual is recognized as Europe’s largest XR event, bringing together researchers, innovators, technology providers, startups, educators, and industry leaders from across the global XR ecosystem. The event serves as a major platform for showcasing cutting-edge immersive technologies and fostering collaboration across sectors such as education, healthcare, manufacturing, mobility, and industrial training.

This year, the three projects shared a joint booth (Hall M – Booth M44), demonstrating how European-funded initiatives are driving the adoption of XR technologies through innovative learning and training solutions.

XR2Learn Brings OC2 Innovation to Laval Virtual

XR2Learn was accompanied at the event by its top three Open Call #2 projects:

  • NEONATAL
  • PORTAL-XR
  • X-DE-MAN

The exhibition gave these innovators the opportunity to showcase their immersive XR solutions to an international audience of XR professionals, industry stakeholders, investors, and researchers.

NEONATAL – Immersive VR Training for Healthcare Professionals

NEONATAL focuses on XR-based medical training for neonatal resuscitation. By combining immersive VR environments with evidence-based instructional design aligned with European Resuscitation Council (ERC) guidelines, the project supports healthcare professionals in practicing life-saving procedures in safe and controlled virtual environments.

The project demonstrates how XR can improve clinical decision-making, technical skill development, and learner engagement in healthcare education.

PORTAL-XR – XR Training for Port Operations and Industrial Safety

PORTAL-XR develops immersive industrial training solutions for port operations and high-risk working environments. The project uses XR simulations to support practical skill development, procedural learning, and operational safety through realistic virtual scenarios.

Its training approach integrates pedagogical frameworks with immersive technologies to create learner-centered XR experiences focused on real workplace tasks and measurable outcomes.

X-DE-MAN – XR Training for Sustainable Industrial Processes

X-DE-MAN applies XR technologies to support industrial de-manufacturing and electronics recycling workflows. The project combines immersive training with operational guidance to improve safety, efficiency, and workforce skills in circular economy and Industry 5.0 contexts.

By leveraging XR simulations and competency-based learning approaches, X-DE-MAN demonstrates how immersive technologies can support sustainable industrial transformation.

Strengthening the European XR Ecosystem

The joint presence of XR2Learn, MOTIVATE XR, and MASTER XR at Laval Virtual highlighted the growing collaboration between Horizon Europe projects working on immersive technologies and digital learning innovation.

Together, the projects showcased how XR can be used to create:

  • Human-centric learning experiences
  • Safer industrial training environments
  • Scalable educational solutions
  • Measurable learning outcomes
  • Real-world workforce upskilling

The event also provided an opportunity to connect with key stakeholders, explore future collaborations, and present European XR innovation to a global audience.
